Not too much going on over here, just have one more week of teaching after this week and then Christmas vacation (and I´ll be done until after the baby!) Other than working, I´m just getting excited, antsy, nervous, ready, etc. for the baby. Lots of nesting going on and trying to stay busy with church!

How far along: 34 weeks, 3 days

Due date: 1/16/12

Gender: BOY! I´m pretty sure we have decided to change his name to Lucas Abelardo, so he will have the same middle name as his daddy :-)

Symptoms: Very tired, have a heavy, full belly, lots of pressure on my bladder, constantly peeing, pain in my ribs/difficult breathing, moving around is not as easy as it used to be, sleeping is difficult, but besides all this, I´m feeling good!

Total weight gain: Still on track and in the normal range with my weight gain, but don´t really feel like putting an exact number on here right now...

Food cravings: Hot chocolate

Food aversions: None, really

Movement: He has definitely run out of space, his movements are not nearly as frequent/active as they used to be, but he is definitely sill moving on a daily basis

Stretch marks: Still none yet, thank goodness!

Maternity clothes: Most definitely!

Sleep: Is becoming very difficult and I feel like I am needing more and more of it as the days go by!

Belly button–in or out: It´s officially out now!

Best thing that happened this week: Seeing my adorable little guy on Tuesday at the doctors!

Any baby-related purchases this week: Bought a few outfits for him on Sunday at the local flea market

Milestones reached: Only about a month left (give or take a few days!), Luke is still in the head down position and looking perfect and healthy, so that´s great. Loving every single day with this miracle :-)

What size is the baby: He now weighs 5.3 pounds and is about 18 inches long (more or less)

What I miss: Wine, playing soccer, dancing Zumba, eating cold deli meat sandwiches, sleeping on my stomach, not going to the bathroom every 30 minutes, walking/moving/breathing/sleeping normally

What I am looking forward to: Our second baby shower this Sunday (thrown by our wonderful church!), our 2 year Anniversary on Monday <3, last day of school on Friday Dec. 16th and then Christmas vacation and all the wonderful things that come with that! Most importantly, meeting our little boy in a few weeks!!!

Belly picture:

32 weeks (pajama edition)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6ipkjSmojTropfoqhyphenhyphen1z8zIq9PmEU07BVmtmz3NUPCKYBHcU6iaHL5qODGypseFzRyochu11-gQrcJwGeryYt0-yEUnCfAOucZZZn3Ho9KWlxUIVGmVRMkBg-HRx5KrARWv3Gf1R3qDA/s320/002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5683862987913897298" />

33 weeks

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2rf3hm96-Z5JGRYQr_9GTXaNPCw7jLSEzhXhk6o3_VMJZVjeBfHPLOm6_z2JJu97Ww08Q5HFK5OiytESZANPEgoV9JsoXvyIfCa00Xb1T5KsM4xELryWX-yF2F8kdgzEIZyqg_wBLRfQ/s320/001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5683863358876460562" />

34 weeks (taken before church on Sunday)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaVB3vqpbFFoXL6Z6EErmFUQ0zc_OJJK3km-srsomrBm4HImPpwyoZz6Wk5NRi9DaqYkrNAq4_T6FLa1ezBUD7N1Moef0tHPfsRran_6IRV3A04IK61dk3l6sAXAVh9vRvfKcOLCXsnM8/s320/001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5683863713345958162" />Megan and Abehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15819858204263305401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5932263002105906661.post-60085857054597822162011-11-18T13:20:00.000-08:002011-11-18T13:22:41.357-08:00LukeHere is the picture we got from the doctor´s on Tuesday:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOfzwRew8uCOQoGpvoGjdEsS6wkNA0ikyHkLApVgfxjTw97kPKm2DzQ9dNMwe6F54YmdEID7_D_g90_Wq_upNVgCE6WjPabdbGAlMgnWLIIGCanJBEQUH3OknYZ0NJLdJWAmILEMOG0Cw/s320/001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5676449078634697986" />

Personally, I think he is the cutest baby I have ever seen in my life, but then again, my opinion might be a tad biased since I am his Mom! :-)Megan and Abehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15819858204263305401noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5932263002105906661.post-17803241210820585332011-11-18T12:38:00.000-08:002011-11-18T13:19:41.892-08:00Weeks 28-31I´ve been slacking these past few weeks...sorry! Working, church, and pregnancy pretty much do me in! So here I am, now at 31 weeks, 4 days. I will post all the pictures from the previous weeks at the bottom.

How far along: almost 32 weeks!!!

Due date: 1/16/12

Gender: BOY! Lucas Alexander will be his name <3 (Although, Abe is now pushing to change his middle name to Abelardo, so we shall see...)

Symptoms: Exhaustion! I get tired and out of breath just from walking up the stairs in our house! Breathing is not as easy as it used to be either. My belly is getting very heavy and itchy, thank goodness for lotion! Still having some back pain. Feet and hands are starting to swell a little, especially if I´ve been on my feet for a while. I wouldn´t trade any of these things for the world though...I love being pregnant!

Total weight gain: As of my last doctor´s appointment on Tuesday, I am up a total of 22 pounds, which is right on track, normal, and healthy!

Food cravings: Would really love some Krispy Kreme doughnuts right about now...

Food aversions: None, really

Movement: He is still active, but he´s running out of space in my belly. I get lots of jabs, rolls, kicks, etc. But since he is already in the head down position, it´s all little movements. It´s so fun to watch my belly move and stretch out though when he´s getting comfy in there!

Stretch marks: Still none yet, thank goodness!

Maternity clothes: Most definitely!

Sleep: Yes please! Haha I have been sleeping a LOT lately! Considering I wake up every 10 minutes to either change positions or go to the bathroom, it´s no surprise that I have to take a nap everyday as well!

Belly button–in or out: It´s officially out now!

Best thing that happened this week: Seeing my precious, handsome, adorable little son on the 3D ultrasound at the doctors. He has the chubbiest little cheeks, his Mommy´s mouth, and his Daddy´s nose! I love him so much already!

Any baby-related purchases this week: Haven´t bought anything for him in a while...

Milestones reached: Only 5-8 more weeks until we get to meet him! Nursery is pretty much as ready as it´s going to get right now (until my parents come in Jan. after his birth and bring more furniture, pictures, etc.) We just need to put a few things on the wall and do some general cleaning (dusting, sweeping, etc.) and then we will be good to go! We also have our last Lamaze class next week, so I am starting to feel more informed/prepared for his birth.

What size is the baby: My little fatty is weighing 4.12 pounds already! And is about 16-18 inches long!

What I miss: Wine, playing soccer, dancing Zumba, eating cold deli meat sandwiches, sleeping on my stomach

What I am looking forward to: Thanksgiving (even though it isn´t celebrated here), my second baby shower, our 2 year anniversary, finishing teaching for the year, Abe´s birthday, Christmas, and most importantly...meeting our son!!!

Belly picture:

Week 28

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEzrX1zqT8eeOTz5mPblUN0FzRYX0Tst4RYYW0uonqpZMcO0_kp2RX6z3Vrsw96_wJQ1zPVSq-i57ht4PmvB9TdllTP6T9TblQaWy1zechwWBsXs-jXh0y-U1nJg298va-q6yx5Z8lNj8/s320/021.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5676441351500152674" />

Week 29

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3WzKP1HyHmIBPnzVCROE3ZzVmxNuxGhWAh9EHJ5OeKhel8yUA3O2ynogdQA_fqL2myvT_nDuNjGQ50LMyapHOH12_xI8rAHC8aiuExMlGrWIntv48NSLzHGeLYNRfgAx69nd5ukFkIhM/s320/268.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5676441792289252546" />

Week 30

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhB63RSsMtMtR-KtlcGFEZXsme5m6ND4KlhAJiwv6GyKjnCd0SICUA3mmlIXXPRw-y6f5ZLC7kOZbHtDqR88i1WpfUPJzID5_kbUmDDHtZjA9p9ZoZ3o1ZHfpufsUxXpfjRZ1-BSbXe1W0/s320/001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5676442080476845378" />

Week 31

All of these pictures were taken at our friends beautiful wedding. I´ll just answer the questions for this week and then show the pictures from the last few weeks!

How far along: 27 weeks

Due date: 1/16/12

Gender: BOY! Lucas Alexander will be his name <3

Symptoms: Still just occasional sciatic nerve pain (lower back)

Total weight gain: About 16/17 pounds I think...

Food cravings: Nothing really

Food aversions: None, really

Movement: Lots, especially in the morning and at night, I love feeling his kicks and Abe can feel them now too! And I like watching my belly move when he kicks :-) I love it when he gets the hiccups too, so cute!

Stretch marks: None so far, thank goodness...

Maternity clothes: Most definitely, this belly is continuing to grow and regular clothes just don´t really fit anymore!

Sleep: Not nearly as great as it used to be :-( I´m a stomach sleeper, which is impossible at this point in the pregnancy, so I rotate between my two sides with tons of pillows surrounding me and between my knees. I also get up to use the bathroom anywhere from 3-5 times a night...

Belly button–in or out: On the verge of popping out, I think it will happen soon!

Best thing that happened this week: Getting the results back from my 3 hour Glucose Tolerance Test...no Gestational Diabetes for me!!! :-) Also, coming back home to my husband and kitty after 3 weeks away

Any baby-related purchases this week: Stroller, carseat, gym/play mat, diapers, breastfeeding supplies, crib sheet...lots of new stuff!

Milestones reached: 3rd Trimester!!! And about 90 days until this little guy makes his appearance! :-)

What size is the baby: According to the Bump, he´s about the size of an eggplant, weighing about 2 pounds and about 15 inches long

What I miss: Wine, playing soccer, dancing Zumba, eating cold deli meat sandwiches, sleeping on my stomach

What I am looking forward to: Getting over being sick, a good friend´s bridal shower and upcoming wedding, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.

Belly picture:

24 weeks

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhwiRr5BN6se60Gj6AduPUbdXuOpN0l9-nNPiJH471eX6usL0NO0DJADOAnZQewkGU20A-1pcfboQOnOmaBKaBPgMrHt9rEP6qvEwj8yfxyocU7lA-w0RuoXvPhAer59uwlC24BbYLrcY/s320/002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5664595504632605282" />

25 weeks at my Baby Shower back home

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1cDcmk5Wpi5YUAOc7Oy1BpGARAitNA0S1teY19yn4reKFffGspR8n83yFbe8ObGqPD7PuFKgwbRVd-nJMIxG_IRwOt2eihKU3uTlVsDcShTanJpZcwaSNeFmEQ73BhZGLdDVU7V-rYsA/s320/052.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5664595967673748882" />

26 weeks

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnk2Asv_cN9bXhzqHYa8nxK6QxBkrWVgLPFQKBuFPevvHHM9F2AEK56Gijo8nlL7kPWmLTRxlOoHvUFgtTDXtnrHdjpo-wnYljVziy_8fKL3VOt9CkkqI85nz-lrPDXQb_XfTW9HcTl2o/s320/057.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5664597049323430146" />

27 weeks...3rd Trimester! :-)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguL_dsmVeZ1ol0Hup8zpG1dWkNyUolM8_4WbMUWMBlONvLdiqGfxTeNkGVUEdzgzZsnTX95XUU6J5VSk3HhrYJNsRBFs9v2wq4gGar5DIc3EsoPoLaCQJwWSJhdV_ndeOi7su43AS6zJM/s320/060.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5664597433569062370" />Megan and Abehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15819858204263305401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5932263002105906661.post-6212320601809908172011-10-17T15:08:00.000-07:002011-10-17T15:33:08.553-07:00CharlestonHi everyone! I know I haven´t updated in a while, but I went home to Charleston for 3 weeks and just got back on Saturday night. And of course, I´m sick :-( Bad sinus/chest infeaction, but currently on medication, so hopefully I will feel better soon. Anyway, I had a fantastic time back home. It was very relaxing and so nice to see all of my family and friends. I also had my first baby shower, which was awesome! Here are some pictures from my trip:

My parents´ sweet dog Buster, who was my best buddy while I was there :-)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPGYYvAqzAgtE8qpHpPvLqjFYwatDiSrgf2j2_wnSziW107V3XeUjBApT6ZiNeDAdivIGG79g83aoRjqsFjwjQ-swNIwPx-stasJTXq-M0Ad7gTx5tlT79g45FQtDtyOuBCsTBFhVax9k/s320/003.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5664587369673520642" />

My mom with Buster and Jackson. I´ll be home for 3weeks and having my baby shower on Oct. 1st...can´t wait! :-)

Belly picture:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHshjXihXY-HjzBdks9sAycOW7GqQI34An-lpz6ufUbh6yI0tQLugGo4Z3cgHspwOKCP3cIzvIFZlQo7H9tc5Kjxk903cmtgvhqdGdFIR5Prh5huKt5m4k-gQY4GlavS7rZoOJdtS-0CE/s320/003.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5652323265249322098" />Megan and Abehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15819858204263305401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5932263002105906661.post-24966906893488229122011-09-13T14:07:00.000-07:002011-09-13T14:22:35.313-07:00Interesting WeekendWe had a stressful, interesting, busy weekend this past Sunday. We ordered our baby crib from Walmart online and they have the option that you can choose the store you want to ship it to and pick it up from the store (saves lots of money!) So we had it shipped to the Walmart in Nogales, AZ, it´s the closest one to us. On Sunday we woke up early, well for me it was early...8am, and drove all the way up to Nogales. We had no problems crossing the border, the guy was very nice and friendly and turns out he was actually stationed at the Naval base in Charleston many years ago so we were chatting for a while :-)

We left Hermosillo around 9am and crossed the border around 1pm, there was hardly any line, like maybe 4 cars in front of us to cross, it was so fast! We ate lunch at Taco Bell (yummy!) and then went to Walmart to pick up our stuff. Our car is a Dodge Neon, so pretty small and the crib was in this huge box, which of course wouldn´t fit in the car, so we had to take all the pieces out of the box and luckily everything just barely fit! Then we shopped some more at Walmart, Ross, ate dinner at McDonald´s and then headed home around 7pm. I won´t tell you how much money we spent, but we definitely got a lot of things we needed and enjoyed our day of shopping! :-)

So normally baby boy is very active when I first wake up, lots of kicks and jabs, and at night when I am laying down in bed. Well all that day he had not been moving much at all, which had me very worried, but I figured it was just from the traveling and me being exhausted and just not feeling well. We got back home around 11pm and when I was laying down that night he still wasn´t moving like normal. I figured he and I both just needed some sleep and then he would get back to his normal routine. Well, yesterday, even after getting 12 hours of sleep, when I woke up, still not much movement at all. So now I was very concerned. The doctor had told me at my last appointment that his movements were very important and that if he wasn´t active during his normal times to call him. So when Abe came home for lunch we called. Of course by this time I was very emotional and stressed out, which probably just made things worse.

Anyways, the doctor told us to come in last night at 5pm just to check and make sure everything is ok. Baby boy is fine and perfect, heartbeat was good, and we could see him moving around on the ultrasound. The doctor just said he was probably very tired because I was so tired and that he can feel all of my stress and worry which makes him less active. So I´m glad that he and I are both ok! He´s a little porker too, he was weighing 1.1 pounds!!!! Which is way ahead of what he should be measuring! And his head is still ahead also, and his stomach. Needless to say, I´m a big worrywart and this little man likes to make me worry! I just need to stay calm and relaxed if this every happens again and not get so stressed. But hey, what else was I supposed to do? This is my first baby that we tried so long and hard for, so of course I´m gonna be a little worried :-)

So that was our weekend! We now have a baby crib, crib mattress, mattress pad cover, and a rug for his room! :-) This is all starting to get very real!!!

Here is a picture of his adorable profile from yesterday. I think he looks like his Daddy in this picture:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqsF6I2QDjka-8sAU-Jbv8JG-2kI7rWmH5VC8tY5-6_o-HFo5Rq8U4IzoSB4zWglBLmkqoXln0nF5_sLKV8ftta4Sx7FwXL7s1xIB6xvn2AmVIKAmbVJbnVfyZUnXKtJPXLC9IhbgVggs/s320/001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5651956141741358194" />

Showing off his man parts...he´s definitely still a boy!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifJ-V8iMZk-_qufme3mZojCvq_jjwbVEjBkmaJGkM5kohlVJZooRsS4EsFZuxdHHgjPFiLxMuYbdeDsOWqkIUfycvaUW0wJSkvpcquBCJjrOgukklX-1E-n94f5Wzw-DGzCY54e7MujyU/s320/002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5651956515893957570" />

His crib, mattress, and new rug just hanging out in the living room waiting to be put together (who knows when that will get done!)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEYT75-iN4s-do_5yk-SLYw4oZ6z5UpA2mRbibaFl3uI9dUWWDaJ0n8_wdweUx8LSbZf5VVZ708joMr0ctmX7PeSiup4-me-Mjw7L6IslFZSeC4YBmBDSYulCLQfjG6eWVOSxVvNx1Ww0/s320/006.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5651956949930978530" />

22 week pregnancy post to come later tonight!Megan and Abehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15819858204263305401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5932263002105906661.post-77122865059738990272011-09-09T16:01:00.000-07:002011-09-09T16:07:13.788-07:003 years3 years ago yesterday, I came down to Mexico. I was completely alone when I flew out to Phoenix and then took a long bus ride down here. I´m sure a lot of people thought that I was out of my mind for coming down to Mexico alone. I mean really, who moves to Mexico? As a single female? Dangerous much? Haha I know my parents, family, and friends were a little concerned. I didn´t know anyone here and I didn´t really know anything about Hermosillo. My plan was just to teach English for 1 year and then go back to Charleston. And yet I´m still here 3 years later...God had better plans for me than I had for myself! Little did I know when I came down here that I would meet my husband and start a family down here, meet two of my best friends, find an amazing church, reignite my passion for Jesus and become involved in so many church activities. The Lord has blessed me so tremendously here and I´m so grateful! Although Hermosillo definitely has it´s faults (hotter than imaginable weather, no rain, no water, crazy drivers, etc.) overall, it is a fantastic place to live and start a family with my wonderful husband. I don´t know how long we will be here or what God´s plan for us is, but all I know is that I trust Him and I have thoroughly enjoyed the journey of the last 3 years. So, I will be listening closely to see what He has in store for us for the next 3 years! :-)Megan and Abehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15819858204263305401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5932263002105906661.post-43787963430056075742011-09-05T20:38:00.001-07:002011-09-05T20:49:40.784-07:0021 weeksEach week I will try to do a pregnancy post with some general questions and a picture of my bump.

Symptoms?: Aside from some back pain, not too much else. Feeling really good!

Weight gain?: Up 12 pounds so far this whole pregnancy

Movement?: Yep, I get little kicks and jabs throughout the day, but he is the most active when I first wake up and at night when I´m laying down in the bed :-)

Stretch marks?: Not yet (knocking on wood)

Belly button–in or out?: Hmmm, well it´s kind of flat right now, it´s stretching and it´s starting to move out some but not all the way there yet.

Best thing that happened this week?: Going out to eat yummy wings for lunch yesterday! :-)

Any baby-related purchases this week?: I don´t think I´ve bought anything this week, but I have already made LOTS of purchases for this little boy :-)

Nursery progress?: Haha, nothing has been done to the actual room yet. The crib and mattress have been purchased and will be picked up this weekend. The paint color has been chosen just not purchased or painted yet. Still need to buy the rest of the furniture and all the decorations.

Milestones reached?: 21 weeks! Each day is a milestone for me!

What size is the baby?: About the size of a banana, length is about 7.5 inches and weight is about 350 grams or 11 ounces more or less...which is funny because 1 week ago at my appointment this baby was already weighing 400 grams, which is 14 ounces! We have a little porker on our hands! :-)

Belly picture:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIyXFgaybCNR9o3Q4Ke2RXuV9Zy-gTcCOfyUJ4Kl2FiMZJM1Ea-f4DBKoc_tqcMVm8jc2I5cq-ILhTxJ6U5NLVJ41krmCqMpLf1POSAIImX_miWkoMwI3gWjZP_iN-zjAfUp1jbVvTyyc/s320/004.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649088333496903234" />Megan and Abehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15819858204263305401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5932263002105906661.post-33860356945567989982011-09-05T14:58:00.000-07:002011-09-05T17:12:14.596-07:006 months later...I´m back! After taking a break from the blogging world for 6 months, I decided it´s time to get back into the swing of it again! :-) I´m not sure if anyone even reads this or not, but anyways, here goes...

Let´s see...what´s been happening in our lives since March?

Well Abe is still working full time as a civil engineer. They are currently building a new hospital here in Hermosillo, so he probably puts in about 10-12 hours every day Mon.-Sat. He´s a very busy, hard-working man!

I´m still teaching English as a Second Language part time at Abe´s family´s school. I enjoy it and it´s nice working with family :-)

Aside from working, we both stay pretty busy with church. We love being involved there. The past few months, I have been playing the keyboard in our praise/worship band on Sundays and I love it! I have also been giving piano classes to some of the teenagers from the church on Saturdays. I´m also taking a disciplship class on Sunday mornings before church. And Abe and I both serve as Ushers.

That´s pretty much our lives right now...work and church! We´re kind of boring people :-) Oh, and of course our cat Mona. She is 1 year old now and so hilarious! She makes us smile and laugh every day and we love having her as part of our family :-) The other kitten that we had, Lucy, unfortunately died. We only had her for less than a week. She was too little and could not survive without her mom´s milk :-(

In April, for Holy Week, I drove up to Tucson, AZ, met my family there and we drove up to Las Vegas to spend the week and go to my cousin´s wedding. We had an amazing time! It was so nice to spend time with my mom, dad, and brother and see other family for the wedding! While we were there, we also drove over to Utah one day and spend the day snow skiing! In April! It was awesome! And as most of you probably know, snow skiing is our favorite family activity. I started when I was 5 years old, as did my brother and it´s something we love doing as a family. Here we are with my cousin and his new wife.

At the end of April, Abe and I traveled to Obregon, which is about 2 hours south of Hermosillo, with his mom and brother for their cousin´s wedding. Here we are at the reception:

May had it´s ups and downs. On May 5th, it was one year since we lost our first baby. It was very tough for me, especially being so close to Mother´s Day :-( But fortunately our up came a few days later on May 10th (which happens to be Mother´s Day here in Mexico) when I found out that I was pregnant for the 3rd time!!!! :-) A week later we had our first doctor´s appointment and we got our first glimpse at our new little bebe. The test that changed everything:

In June, we went back to the doctor to see that our baby had a heartbeat and that all was well so far! Here is the baby at 8 weeks and 2 days:

At 10 weeks, I started taking weekly pictures of my belly to document this amazing journey and all the physical changes that come with it. Here I am at 10 weeks:

I personally think he looks like me! :-) The doctor and my mother-in-law agree. I think he is the most handsome, adorable, precious little guy I´ve ever seen in my life and I love him so much already!

Today I am 21 weeks pregnant with our little boy (due January 16th 2012) and I just feel so thankful, blessed, and fortunate to have made it this far with this pregnancy. Every day that I can feel him moving and kicking, I just thank my Heavenly Father for blessing us with this child. He is such a miracle and I know that he is a gift from God. It has been a long, difficult journey to get to where we are now, but I never for a second doubted or lost my faith in God. It´s so amazing because back in November (I think) after I had my second miscarriage, we were at church on a Wednesday night for prayer and an older women from the congregation, whom we normally don´t really talk to that much, came up to us. She told us that God had spoken to her and given her a message to give to us. He told her that He would give us healthy, beautiful children and for me not to worry, that He would place them inside of me in His time. I bawled my eyes out when I heard this becuase I just knew it was true. I knew that God would give me a chance to be a mother one day and that I just had to keep trusting Him. Well, as you can clearly see, God has indeed kept His promise to us. He is faithful, generous, and so good. Several months later, actually I think it was right after I had just found out I was pregnant in May, we were at church again for prayer on a Wednesday night and a woman (again, someone that we don´t normally talk to all that often) came up to me afterwards and told me that the Holy Spirit had told her that He was working on a miracle inside of me. Again, cue the tears, as I already knew that I had a little miracle growing inside of me. So anyways, this is my testimony, that although it was a long, painful, difficult journey to get here, God was by our side every second and has now blessed us so tremendously. After all of our prayin, wishing, and hoping, our dream has finally come true. I know that God is blessing and protecting both myself and the baby each and every day. If there is something in your life that you are longing for, please don´t give up. God hears your prayers and He wants to bless you. It´s just not always when we want it. It´s in His time. So just be patient, have faith, and trust in Him. He will come through, He always does!

Thanks for letting me share and for reading this! Hope everyone is having a happy, safe Labor Day! :-)

Jesus Christ is my Savior and the Risen Son of God
2. In the Holy Trinity
3. God is ALWAYS in control
4. Faith, hope, and love go a long way
5. After God, family is the most important
6. It´s necessary to be involved in your church
7. Babies and puppies are the most adorable things in the whole world
8. Sometimes bad things happen to good people, but we can´t see the whole picture like God can, so we just have to trust Him and His plans
9. There is no greater pain than losing someone you love
10. God works miracles everyday
11. I will be a mother one day to healthy, beautiful children
12. I have been extremely blessed
13. Martin Luther was a genius
14. Good music can solve almost any problem
15. The older you get, the fewer true friends you have
16. Age is just a number
17. I have the best husband in the world
18. Even though there are lots of bad people in the world, there are lots of good people too
19. Violence does not fix everything
20. We are all human which means that none of us are perfect...try to keep that in mind when judging someone else
21. No person should have to live without food, clothing, shelter, water, and education...these are basic rights that EVERYONE should have
22. A little alone time everyday is a necessity for me to function
23. Sleep is a beautiful thing
24. Everything is okay in the end, if it´s not okay, then it´s not the end
25. All the time God is good and God is good all the time!

Day 50: Your Goals

Hmmm...in no specific order...

-get my Master´s Degree, either in teaching ESL or in Youth Ministry, not sure which one yet
-be a good mother and wife
-be happy
-travel to Europe, Central America, and South America
-participate in a Missions trip
-do God´s will

That´s all I can think of right now...

Day 51: Your Dream House

I couldn´t find a specific picture that represented my dream house, but I only have three basic requirements for my dream house

1. It MUST have lots of trees and a big yard
2. It MUST be near water, either the ocean, lake, river, etc.
3. Circular stairs would be a plus, I think they´re super cool :-)

Day 52: Something you have learned

Probably the most important thing I have learned in my 25 years of living is to trust in God. To know that He is always there for me, always by my side, always has my best interests at heart, He always loves me and that He is always in control.

This is the last day of my blog challenge, so from here on out it will be back to my boring, normal life and what´s going on and probably less frequent updates.Megan and Abehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15819858204263305401noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5932263002105906661.post-42545538259013859662011-03-01T13:06:00.001-08:002011-03-01T20:16:05.345-08:00Days 38-48Wow, I guess I haven´t written in a while...so here goes my attempt at catch up!

Day 38: Something that stresses you

People who drive slow make my blood pressure rise! I´m not a patient person so when I´m trying to get somewhere, I try to do it as quickly and efficiently as possible :-)

Day 39: Your favorite vacation

My favorite vacation was about 10 years ago. My entire Mom´s side of the family went up to Stowe, Vermont to go skiing. We stayed at the Von Trapp Family Inn (and as you know, The Sound of Music is one of my favorite movies ever!) It was such an amazing vacation because we had so much fun as a family and I remember spending great quality time with both my aunt and grandma, who are no longer here on earth. I have such fond memories of that vacation <3

Day 40: A picture of your family

This is from right after my brother´s wedding, the beginning of January. This is some of my Dad´s side of the family at church.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-J809NbrIFlWGfioeGegWFYlx1mZjq_ynxFx1dQ4Z5h4aVEGOzfw24vapdEi7InBGYIUOE0AfFlzQZlzWp9ipBbyn7pa45JbGVYP2U7DR7O4rDWX1QVHozPDK3CkzvzTJmzZpoOJp2ZI/s320/119.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5579225485270244450" />

Day 41: 1st 10 songs on your Ipod shuffle

1. I graduated in 3 years instead of 4 and I was constantly studying and worrying about finishing, etc. If I could go back, I would just have more fun, relax, take things a little bit slower and enjoy college more!

Day 43: A picture of something you wish you could forget

Honestly there´s not really anything in my life I would want to forget. I feel that everything happened for a reason and it´s all been a learning experience for me so I wouldn´t want to forget any of it.

Day 44: A picture of something that means a lot to you

My sweet husband means the world to me <3

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6jJfnBSDZqqI1XfQOJMtyWCXlnpJh9um920E3B00RegNzuqarIew_Rdxzw7ugTP0WP8eUfANxHhwq1UcQxPRpid3HGZH3IDAG2C7j6x_GItGWEOURMCNgFj4Wjo6KU0-RNpN13qfpDhM/s320/015.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5579330129535815554" />

Day 45: A picture that can always make you smile

My little kitten Mona always brings a smile to my face :-)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvsUuihjRYC05DhQe-11bK2rQE1hRLFZs5kEXRP9Pr2pF626s2-XvmnMV_5MxeO94IDDJ5qIsq_vhtPpDH56zQyP2yPOyDK_ZqdYHjMzwmOfMxuKsvsfqfjqEqNX6-f8OkVm8RdfrCLlw/s320/001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5579330635924243298" />

Day 46: A picture of something you wish you were better at

I wish I was better at being patient...I´m working on it! It depends on who the person is calling my name. If it´s my dad, he either calls me Pumpkin or Meganio. I have a lot of friends/family that just call me Meg. A few friends from church here in Mexico call me Meggie. And a select few friends from high school/soccer team know my old nickname, Beans. (I´m not going to explain the reason behind that name!) My husband has many nicknames for me, but I think the one he uses the most is ¨blondie¨ in Spanish. And I honestly can´t wait for that day! :-)

Day 27: A picture of somewhere you´d love to travel

South America! Pura Vida!!! :-)

I spent the summer of 2006 living with a family in San Jose, studying Spanish during the weeks, and traveling all around the country on the weekends. It was amazing! Costa Rica is an absolutely beautiful country! I would recommend it to anyone. It has so many things available to do. There are beaches, mountains, volcanoes, rain forests, eco activities, jungles, waterfalls, cities, shopping, white water rafting, surfing, fishing, zip lining, anything you want to do, you can probably find it in Costa Rica.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 253px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieKE20Q9zUD2H_AeGqvvCy3-6V57KjI0r9hSxjHdPfwYijlege21Ii1s5eoz-Hnz-BkcDBWXA7gXxFCLv9vDZgkqShdh1pYsDBLI2Vw04zxTGJFv08qFbuo6FJHukU5uQMV5WYY5uwGfs/s320/crbeach.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566980289985173842" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin98bJaWlC1FWSLsUnecNJRC2L_XyzY-DqtiZoASbyGxRRavr8By7Zxs4EPU0wfykOL9B_ZQDgZV0Cy_feMmNHX4gRd3i-9cZV-xd9KSbWh64tCGalbjI9w56oy1HiHBibGxqEEbjK-24/s320/crvolcano.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566980873583237778" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRuCxyZ0d-F0wNhWhKIdlb940_zqCWze3KpEWPUNVSZi4GnMgBdC7mxnXE8HWSRbLeNop1PPmlH4B1nDintD7k3qYBoj-TUywSTsUNurGkmqXF_7n6jUyWV-B7z6DjRtyqRgEfCr7m7LM/s320/crwaterfall.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566981168328504338" />Megan and Abehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15819858204263305401noreply@blogger.com1
